The next morning, drive to the port town of Cassis and sail off to experience the Calanques limestone cliffs before heading to Avignon for a private cooking class. Delight in excursions to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence to sample olive oil and Arles to enjoy lunch and a wine tasting in the former capital of ancient Rome. Private French Cooking Class in Avignon
Indulge in the joy of French cuisine with a private cooking class at Maison de la Tour in Avignon. Accompanied by the chef, you’ll shop like a professional at the Halles d’Avignon market where you’ll browse fresh ingredients to use in preparation for your meal. Discover local delicacies before returning to the kitchen to roll up your sleeves and create a mouth-watering meal. Finish your experience by enjoying what you’ve just prepared with local wine. Day 1
Fly overnight from Toronto or Winnipeg to Marseille.
Day 2
Marseille – Arrive in Marseille, transfer to the hotel, then enjoy a panoramic tour of the city and welcome dinner. (D)
Day 3
Avignon – Morning excursion to Cassis for a 1-hour sailing cruise of the beautiful Calanques. Transfer to Avignon with the rest of the day at leisure. (B)
Day 4
Avignon – Experience a private cooking class at Maison de la Tour. Next, visit the Pope’s Palace during a walking tour of Old Avignon. (B)
Day 5
Avignon – Full-day excursion to St. Remy de Provence and the village of Bauxde-Provence. Visit an olive oil estate in St. Remy for a tasting. (B/T)
Day 6
Avignon – This morning, join a walking tour to explore Arles, followed by lunch. Tour Camargue in a 4x4 vehicle. Complete the day with a wine tasting. (B/L/T)
Day 7
Nice – Drive to Nice with a stop at the picturesque village of Gordes for lunch. Continue to Aix-en-Provence for a walking tour then arrive in Nice. (B/L)
Day 8
Nice – Sightseeing tour of Nice and a private visit to a wine estate with tasting. Your afternoon is at leisure. (B/T)
Day 9
Nice – A full-day excursion to Eze and Monaco, with lunch. Visit Saint-Jean Cap Ferrat and the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, with refreshments at the restaurant. (B/L/S)
Day 10
Nice – Visit the colourful Provençal market of Antibes then take a tour of Cannes. Stop in the hilltop town of St. Paul de Vence and play pétanque, a traditional game similar to lawn bowling. (B)
Day 11
Nice – Enjoy a free day in Nice, ending with a three-course farewell dinner and a glass of champagne. (B/D)
Day 12
Transfer to the airport for your return flight to Toronto or Winnipeg. (B)

Extraordinary Explorations vacations are organized and booked by CAA Travel (South Central Ontario) Inc. and CAA Manitoba (“CAA Travel”) on behalf of CAA Club Group (o/a CAA South Central Ontario and CAA Manitoba). In the event of an increase in any of the cost factors, CAA Travel reserves the right to increase the price whereby the provisions of the Travel Industry Act shall prevail. CAA Extraordinary Explorations packages are 100% non-refundable at final payment. CAA Travel service fee for cancellation prior to final payment varies by program. For full payment terms and conditions, please ask your CAA Travel Consultant. CAA Travel reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements (minimum number of participants) or circumstances beyond its control. Additional fees for checked luggage or other incidentals may be incurred and vary according to itinerary and airline. Air schedules with some tours are not available at press time and may include several connections or forced overnight at passenger’s expense. CAA Travel strongly recommends the purchase of trip cancellation and emergency travel and emergency medical insurance at the time of booking.
Please note: Participants must be able to embark and disembark cruise ships and coaches without assistance as well as have a good level of mobility for walking tours in destinations where stairs and traditional cobblestone streets can be challenging. International transportation vehicles and facilities may not meet accessibility standards.

Day 2
Marseille
Arrive in Marseille to meet your tour guide and transfer to the hotel. Enjoy a panoramic tour of the city and welcome dinner at a local restaurant. (D)

Avignon
Enjoy a morning excursion to Cassis to enjoy a 1-hour sailing cruise of the beautiful Calanques limestone cliffs in the Cote D’Azur. In the afternoon, arrive in Avignon with the rest of the day at leisure. (B)
Day 4
Avignon
Experience a private cooking class at Maison de la Tour. In the afternoon, visit the Pope’s Palace during a walking tour of Old Avignon. (B)
Day 5
Avignon
Today is a full-day excursion to St. Rémy de Provence and the village of Baux-de-Provence. Visit an olive oil estate in St. Remy and expand your palate with a tasting. (B/T)
Day 6
Avignon
This morning, join a walking tour to explore the Roman City of Arles, followed by lunch at a local restaurant on your own. In the afternoon, hop in a 4x4 vehicle for a private excursion to discover the Rhône delta of Camargue. Complete the day with a wine tasting. (B/L/T)
Day 7
Nice
Drive to Nice with a stop at the picturesque village of Gordes, then have lunch at a local restaurant. Continue to Aix-en-Provence for a walking tour then arrive in Nice. (B/L)
Day 8
Nice
Morning sightseeing tour of Nice and a private visit to a wine estate with tasting. Your afternoon is at leisure. (B/T)
Day 9
Nice
A full-day excursion awaits to the seaside village of Eze and the glamourous principality of Monaco with lunch. Stop in Saint-Jean Cap Ferrat and visit the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, where you’ll pause for a drink and pastry while taking in the views from the restaurant. (B/L/S)

Nice
Visit the colourful Provençal market of Antibes then take a tour of Cannes. Stop in the hilltop town of St. Paul de Vence where you can play pétanque, a traditional game similar to lawn bowling. (B)
