Greek Dance Performance & Lesson
Step into Greek culture with an exciting evening at the Dora Stratou Theatre. Mediterranean Escape: Adriatic & Greek Isles Cruise
Activity Level: Moderate. From Acropolis views to Adriatic shores, this 17-day tour by land and sea blends ancient wonders, island beauty and cultural charm.
Day 1
Depart on your overnight flight to Athens.
Day 2
Athens – Upon arrival in Athens, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel in the city centre. Later, head out for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. (D)
Day 3
Athens – After breakfast, join your guide for a city tour of Athens. Enjoy a panoramic drive past the Parliament, the memorial to the Unknown Soldier guarded by the evzones and the Panathenaic Stadium, where the first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896. In the afternoon, head to the Dora Stratou Theatre for a traditional Greek dance lesson led by professional dancers. (B)
Day 4
Athens – Today, visit the magnificent Acropolis and its Propylaea gates, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheum with its graceful Caryatids the iconic Parthenon. Continue to the Acropolis Museum to view the friezes and statues from the site. (B)
Day 5
Athens – Transfer to the cruise terminal and board the Celebrity Eclipse® for your 10-night Adriatic & Greek Isles cruise. (B)

Venice – Cruise through the Venetian Lagoon to the islands of Murano and Burano. In Murano, visit a working glass studio to watch master artisans at work. Continue to Burano to explore its vibrant streets, see local lace-makers and sample bussola, a local dessert. (B)

After breakfast, transfer to the Venice airport for your return flight to Toronto or Winnipeg. (B)

Please note: Participants must be able to embark and disembark cruise ships and coaches without assistance as well as have a good level of mobility for walking tours in destinations where stairs and traditional cobblestone streets can be challenging. Set off across the Venetian Lagoon on a scenic boat excursion to the islands of Murano and Burano. In Murano, step inside a working glass studio to watch master artisans shape molten glass into delicate works of art. Then cruise on to Burano, where bright houses line the canals and local women continue the centuries-old tradition of handcrafting lace. Sample a sweet bite of bussola, a local dessert, as you stroll through the island. (B)
