Spanish Cooking Class with Local Chef
This hands-on cooking class offers a true taste of Spain, guided by a local chef who brings the country’s vibrant flavours to life. Surrounded by the aromas of garlic, saffron and smoked paprika, you’ll learn how to prepare classic tapas and a rich, golden paella that embodies the warmth of Spanish cuisine. As you cook, you’ll enjoy regional wines, share stories and connect with your fellow travellers over laughter and good food. Day 1
Depart Toronto or Winnipeg on your overnight flight to Madrid.
Day 2
Madrid – Arrive in Spain’s lively capital and transfer to your hotel. After settling in, join your group for an evening Tapas Tour, sampling traditional small plates while discovering the spirit of Madrid. (T)
Day 3
Madrid – Enjoy a panoramic city tour featuring the elegant Royal Palace, then spend the afternoon exploring at leisure. This evening, experience dinner and an unforgettable Flamenco show. (B/D)
Day 4
Córdoba – Travel via Toledo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the Gothic Cathedral, the Church of St. Tomé and Santa María la Blanca Synagogue before lunch at a local restaurant. Continue to Córdoba for an evening at leisure. (B/L)
Day 5
Córdoba – Tour the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos and the iconic Mosque–Cathedral, an architectural masterpiece blending Islamic and Christian design. The rest of the day is yours to explore. (B)
Day 6
Seville – Arrive in Seville for a guided tour featuring the cathedral, the Giralda bell tower and the Real Alcázar. Enjoy a lively group lunch before an evening at leisure. (B/L)
Day 7
Granada – Journey to Granada to visit the breathtaking Alhambra and the serene Generalife Gardens. Enjoy lunch and time to explore at your own pace. (B/L)
Day 8
Valencia – Travel east to Valencia. After lunch, check in and enjoy the afternoon free to relax or explore the old town. (B/L)
Day 9
Valencia – Visit the historic Silk Exchange and Cathedral before enjoying the day at leisure. (B)
Day 10
Valencia – Enjoy a free day to explore Valencia’s beaches, markets and cafés. (B)
Day 11
Barcelona – Travel north to Barcelona. Enjoy lunch on arrival, then settle into your hotel before your Extraordinary Experience: a hands-on Spanish cooking class led by a local chef. (B/L/D)
Day 12
Barcelona – Discover the Gothic Quarter, visit the awe-inspiring Sagrada Família and wander through the colourful mosaics of Park Güell. Tonight, enjoy a group dinner at a local restaurant. (B/D)
Day 13
Barcelona – Enjoy a final free day to explore at your own pace. This evening, join your group for a farewell dinner celebrating your Spanish adventure. (B/D)

EExtraordinary Explorations vacations are organized and booked by CAA Travel (South Central Ontario) Inc. and CAA Manitoba (“CAA Travel”) on behalf of CAA Club Group (o/a CAA South Central Ontario and CAA Manitoba). In the event of an increase in any of the cost factors, CAA Travel reserves the right to increase the price whereby the provisions of the Travel Industry Act shall prevail. Deposit is non-refundable at the time of booking. Final payment is due 120 days before departure. CAA Extraordinary Explorations packages are 100% non-refundable at final payment. CAA Travel service fee for cancellation prior to final payment varies by program. For full payment terms and conditions, please ask your CAA Travel Consultant. CAA Travel reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements (minimum number of participants) or circumstances beyond its control. Air schedules with some tours are not available at press time and may include several connections or forced overnight at passenger’s expense. CAA Travel strongly recommends the purchase of trip cancellation and emergency travel and emergency medical insurance at the time of booking.
Please note: Participants must be able to embark and disembark cruise ships and coaches without assistance as well as have a good level of mobility for walking tours in destinations where stairs and traditional cobblestone streets can be challenging. International transportation vehicles and facilities may not meet accessibility standards.

Arrive in Spain’s lively capital and meet your English-speaking tour guide before transferring to your hotel. Take some time to relax or enjoy a gentle stroll through nearby plazas. This evening, join your group for a Tapas Tour and sample traditional small plates while soaking up Madrid’s warm hospitality and spirited culinary scene. (T)

Madrid
Begin the day with a panoramic city tour showcasing Madrid’s elegant boulevards, grand architecture and timeless landmarks. Visit the Royal Palace—one of Europe’s largest and most opulent palaces—then enjoy the afternoon at leisure. Tonight, gather with your group for a memorable dinner followed by an electrifying Flamenco Show filled with rhythm, energy and passion. (B/D)
Day 4
Córdoba
After breakfast, travel to Toledo, one of Europe’s oldest cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the famous Toledo Cathedral, a magnificent sample of flamboyant Gothic style. Walk through the old Jewish quarter with its narrow streets to visit the Church of St. Tomé to see El Greco’s The Burial of Count Orgaz and the old Synagogue of Santa Maria la Blanca. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to Córdoba, where the evening is free to relax or explore the city’s Andalusian charm. (B/L)

Córdoba
Set out on a guided tour of Córdoba’s historic treasures. Visit the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos, once home to Christian monarchs and featuring lush gardens and ancient Roman mosaics. Next is the remarkable Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its stunning blend of Islamic and Christian design. The afternoon is yours to stroll cobblestone streets, linger in cafés or browse local shops. (B)

Seville
Travel to Seville, the heart of Andalusia and a city rich in history and romance. Enjoy a guided tour featuring the Seville Cathedral, the Giralda bell tower and the Real Alcázar, known for its intricate Mudéjar architecture and lush gardens. Savour a group lunch at a local restaurant before an afternoon at leisure to wander charming neighbourhoods or unwind in a shaded plaza. (B/L)

Granada
Journey through Andalusia’s scenic countryside to Granada. Enjoy a guided visit to the Alhambra, the iconic palace and fortress showcasing exquisite Moorish architecture. Valencia
Depart for Valencia, a coastal city known for its golden beaches, futuristic architecture and centuries of history. Enjoy a local lunch with your group, then check in to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to discover the old town, stroll the promenade or unwind by the sea. (B/L)

Valencia
Meet your guide this morning for a captivating city tour of Valencia, celebrated as the City of Arts and Sciences for its striking blend of futuristic architecture and historic charm. Visit the UNESCO-listed Silk Exchange, a masterpiece of late Gothic architecture, then stop by the city’s impressive Cathedral. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure exploring markets, relaxing on the beach or tasting authentic paella. (B)

Valencia
Enjoy a full free day to embrace Valencia’s laid-back coastal rhythm. Spend time on the beach, browse local markets, visit contemporary art galleries or simply savour the Mediterranean pace of life. (B)
Day 11
Barcelona
Meet with a local guide for a full-day exploration of Dublin. Start with a panoramic sightseeing tour including Continue north to Barcelona, where art, architecture and coastal beauty meet. Enjoy a group lunch on arrival and settle into your hotel before this evening’s Extraordinary Experience: a hands-on cooking class with a local chef. Explore Barcelona’s rich blend of history, artistry and architectural wonder on a guided tour. Barcelona
Spend your final full day at leisure.
