Set out on a 15-day journey that weaves together the Adriatic’s most captivating landscapes and cities. From Ljubljana’s old town and castle, explore alpine scenery at Vintgar Gorge and Lake Bled, then venture underground at Postojna Cave. In Zagreb, discover grand squares and leafy parks before continuing to Plitvice Lakes’ cascading waterfalls. Follow the coast to Split and Trogir, rich in Roman and Venetian influence. In Dubrovnik, step inside the city walls and take part in a meaningful local experience. Cross into Montenegro to explore Kotor and Budva, then return through the Konavle Valley, where vineyard-dotted hills and Adriatic views offer a memorable final look at the Adriatic.

Gourmet Olive Oil Tour by Vintage Vans
Step into a family-run tradition on Slovenia’s coast with a visit to the Lisjak Olive Oil Mill. Learn how premium olive oil is crafted, then sample a range of distinctive blends alongside local sparkling wine and regional bites. Travel in restored vintage vans, rebuilt with olive wood, adding a nostalgic touch to the experience. Scenic Stops on the Adriatic Coast
Explore Slovenia, Croatia and Montenegro on this 15-day Adriatic adventure filled with waterfalls, old towns, local flavours and coastal views.
Day 1
Depart from Toronto or Winnipeg on your overnight flight to Zagreb.
Day 2
Ljubljana – Arrive and meet your guide. Transfer to Ljubljana with a stop for lunch. Enjoy a welcome dinner. (L/D)
Day 3
Ljubljana – Explore the old town and Ljubljana Castle on a guided tour. Afternoon at leisure before dinner with the group. (B/D)
Day 4
Ljubljana – Visit Vintgar Gorge. Continue to Bled Castle, then take a traditional pletna boat to Bled Island and St. Mary’s Church. (B/L)
Day 5
Ljubljana – Discover Postojna Cave, a UNESCO-listed cave system. After lunch, enjoy your Extraordinary Experience at the Lisjak Olive Oil Mill with tastings. (B/L/T)
Day 6
Zagreb – Travel to Zagreb with a stop at Trakošćan Castle. On arrival, enjoy free time for lunch followed by a guided tour of the city. (B)
Day 7
Zagreb – Ride the Sljeme Cable Car up Medvednica Mountain for panoramic views, with time to explore the nature park. (B)
Day 8
Split – Explore Plitvice Lakes National Park on a guided walk through its lakes and waterfalls. Continue to Split for lunch and a guided tour of the old town. (B/L)
Day 9
Split – Visit Trogir, a UNESCO-listed town known for its medieval streets and waterfront. Return to Split with time to explore or relax by the sea. (B)
Day 10
Dubrovnik – Travel along the Pelješac Peninsula, stopping in Ston. After lunch, visit a local oyster farm for a tasting before continuing to Dubrovnik. Evening at leisure. (B/L/T)
Day 11
Dubrovnik – Guided tour of Dubrovnik’s old town and city walls. After free time, take part in a beach clean-up and visit a recycling facility. Remainder of day at leisure. (B)
Day 12
Budva – Travel toward Montenegro with lunch en route. Visit Perast and the island church of Our Lady of the Rocks. Continue to Kotor for a guided tour of its UNESCO-listed old town. Arrive in Budva for two nights. (B/L)
Day 13
Budva – Explore Budva’s old town on a guided tour, with free time to enjoy its historic streets or relax by the coast. (B)
Day 14
Dubrovnik – Return to Dubrovnik via the Konavle Valley. Stop at Crvik Winery for a tasting before a farewell dinner in the historic centre. (B/T/D)
Day 15
Breakfast at the hotel, then transfer to the airport for your return flight home.(B)

Extraordinary Explorations vacations are organized and booked by CAA Travel (South Central Ontario) Inc. and CAA Manitoba (“CAA Travel”) on behalf of CAA Club Group (o/a CAA South Central Ontario and CAA Manitoba). Day 2
Ljubljana
Upon arrival, meet your English-speaking tour guide at the airport and transfer to Ljubljana. On the way, stop in the Dolenjska region for lunch. Enjoy a welcome dinner in a traditional Croatian restaurant. (L/D)
Day 3
Ljubljana
After a leisurely breakfast, enjoy a sightseeing tour of the old town and Ljubljana Castle. This friendly, cosmopolitan city blends Roman, Medieval and Austrian influences. Stroll along the Ljubljanica River, explore parks and historic streets or relax in a café. The afternoon is free before gathering for dinner at a local restaurant. (B/D)
Day 4
Ljubljana
Today’s day trip takes you to the Vintgar Gorge, which carves its way for 1.6 kilometers through vertical rocks with waterfalls, pools and rapids. Next, visit Bled Castle, a medieval castle perched high on a rocky cliff above Bled, the crown jewel of the Alps. Here you’ll admire the natural wonderland of glacial valleys, alpine forests and scenic lakes surrounded by the Julian Alps and the Karavanke Alps. After lunch, enjoy a pletna wooden boat ride to Bled Island and a visit to St. Mary’s Church. (B/L)
Day 5
Ljubljana
Visit Postojna Cave, a UNESCO Heritage Site and the largest known cave system in Slovenia. After lunch, enjoy your Extraordinary Experience at the Lisjak Olive Oil Mill to discover how luxury olive oil has been produced by the Lisjak family for generations. Savour this unique gourmet experience that includes tastings and a scenic ride in vintage vans. (B/L/T)

Zagreb
Travel to Zagreb with a stop at Trakošćan Castle. Built in the 13th century, this is Croatia’s best kept castle, housing authentic armour, paintings and furniture dating back centuries. On arrival in Zagreb, enjoy free time for lunch followed by a guided walking tour of the city to explore its eclectic mix of central European architecture and Mediterranean charm. Enjoy Zrinjevac Park, Ban Jelacic Square, and walk the upper town's cobblestone streets. Continue by funicular to the lower town, dominated by the impressive building of the Croatian National Theatre. (B)
Day 7
Zagreb
After breakfast, ride the Sljeme Cable Car up Medvednica Mountain to take in the views from the TV Tower Viewpoint. Enjoy time to explore the peaceful and beautiful Nature Park Medvednica, a protected forest area close to the city that brims with life. (B)
Day 8
Split
Step into the natural beauty of Plitvice National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Set within a forested landscape, its series of terraced lakes and waterfalls are linked by wooden walkways and scenic paths. Enjoy a guided walk of approximately 5 km before continuing to Split, the heart of the Dalmatian coast. On arrival, enjoy lunch and a guided walking tour of the old town, where ancient stone walls, narrow streets and lively squares create a unique atmosphere. (B/L)

Split
Embark on a scenic drive to Trogir, a UNESCO-listed town known for its well-preserved medieval streets and waterfront setting. It has a high concentration of palaces, churches and towers, as well as a fortress on a small island. Explore its historic centre, where Greek, Roman and Venetian influences are reflected in its architecture and public squares. Return to Split with time to visit the Diocletian’s Palace or enjoy the seaside setting at your own pace. (B)
Day 10
Dubrovnik
On the way to Dubrovnik, follow the scenic Pelješac Peninsula, known for its coastal views and local food traditions. Stop in Ston, a town famous for its historic defensive walls, salt works and oysters. After lunch at a local restaurant, visit a local oyster farm for a tasting experience before continuing to Dubrovnik, where the evening is at leisure. (B/L/T)
Day 11
Dubrovnik
Discover Dubrovnik’s old town on a guided walking tour, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its well-preserved city walls, historic streets and coastal views. After free time for lunch, join a non-profit organization for a beach clean-up initiative, followed by a tour of the group’s recycling facility which turns trash into sunglasses. The remainder of the day is at leisure. (B)
Day 12
Budva
Make your way toward Montenegro’s Bay of Kotor, stopping for lunch at a local restaurant en route. Continue to the ancient village of Perast, known for its Venetian architecture that seems untouched by time. Visit the island church of Our Lady of the Rocks. Next, head to picturesque city of Kotor for a guided walking tour through the UNESCO-listed old town, with time to explore its medieval streets and landmarks such as the 12th-century Cathedral of Saint Tryphon. Drive on to Budva for a two-night stay. (B/L)

Budva
Take in Budva on a guided sightseeing tour, with some free time to explore on your own. Known for its sandy beaches and stone walls built by the Venetians to surround the narrow streets of the medieval old town (Stari Grad), this historic district is home to a seaside citadel and religious sites such as the Church of Santa Maria in Punta, established in the 9th century. Day 14
Dubrovnik
After breakfast, return to Dubrovnik via the Konavle Valley, a scenic region of vineyards, farmland and hillside villages. This fertile landscape has long supported the region and offers a quieter glimpse of local life. Stop at Crvik Winery for a guided tasting before your farewell dinner at a signature restaurant in the historic hear of Dubrovnik. (B/T/D)

Following breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport for your return flight to Toronto or Winnipeg. (B)
