The Beatles Backstory Tour of Liverpool
Follow in the footsteps of The Beatles on this guided tour through the Liverpool landmarks that shaped their legendary rise as you learn about their early influences and the places they lived. Stroll down Penny Lane, the street immortalized in their famous song, and walk past Strawberry Field, the former Salvation Army children’s home that inspired another of their hits. Step inside the Cavern Club, where The Beatles made their mark in the early days of their career. Day 1
Depart on your overnight flight to London.
Day 2
London – Begin your adventure with a panoramic tour of London’s most iconic sights, including the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.
Day 3
Birmingham – Start early with a visit to the mystical Stonehenge, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Continue to historic Bath for a tour of its Georgian architecture, including Bath Abbey and the Royal Crescent. Enjoy time at leisure before dinner. (B/D)
Day 4
Caernarfon – Drive through North Wales to the Halen Môn Sea Salt Refinery and learn about their traditional methods. In the afternoon, choose either free time in town or a visit to Caernarfon Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Enjoy a local Welsh dinner with your group. (B/D)
Day 5
Liverpool – Travel through Snowdonia National Park and soak in its breathtaking views. In Liverpool, enjoy lunch and a private walking tour featuring The Beatles, including a visit to the famous Strawberry Field. (B/L)
Day 6
Penrith – Take in the beauty of the Lake District with a steam train ride, two-course lunch and cruise on Lake Windermere. (B/L)
Day 7
Glasgow – Drive through the scenic Scottish Borders, stopping for lunch and a guided whisky tasting at a local distillery. End the day with a panoramic tour of Glasgow. (B/L/T)
Day 8
Edinburgh – Visit the National Piping Centre for a hands-on intro to the bagpipes. Enjoy time at leisure before a panoramic tour of Edinburgh. (B)
Day 9
Edinburgh – Explore Edinburgh Castle, walk the Royal Mile and visit Grassmarket and Greyfriars Bobby. Enjoy free time, then a farewell Scottish dinner with live entertainment. (B/D)

Please note: Participants must be able to embark and disembark cruise ships and coaches without assistance as well as have a good level of mobility for walking tours in destinations where stairs and traditional cobblestone streets can be challenging. International transportation vehicles and facilities may not meet accessibility standards.

Caernarfon
Drive through the scenic countryside of North Wales on your way to visit the Halen Môn Sea Salt Refinery. Here you’ll learn about their traditional salt production methods. This afternoon, you can either choose to enjoy free time in Caernarfon or visit Caernarfon Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most impressive medieval fortresses in Wales. This evening, enjoy a local Welsh dinner with your group. (B/D)
Day 5
Liverpool
Journey through Snowdonia National Park and take in the breathtaking mountain views. Arrive in Liverpool for a local lunch and a private walking tour focused on The Beatles, including a visit to the famous Strawberry Field. (B/L)
Day 6
Penrith
Experience the natural beauty of the Lake District with a scenic steam train ride, a delicious two-course lunch and a relaxing cruise on Lake Windermere. Keep an eye out for wildlife and the beautiful landscapes that make this area so special. (B/L
Day 7
Glasgow
Continue on with a drive through the scenic Scottish Borders en route to Glasgow. Enjoy a relaxed two-course lunch before stopping at a local whisky distillery to learn about the craft and enjoy a tutored tasting of three whiskies. End the day with a panoramic tour of Glasgow, including Merchant City. (B/L/T)

Edinburgh
Begin the day at the National Piping Centre with a hands-on introduction to the basics of bagpipe playing. Enjoy free time in Glasgow before heading to Edinburgh for a panoramic city tour featuring historical highlights at every turn. (B)
Day 9
Edinburgh
Start the day at Edinburgh Castle, perched above the city with sweeping views and centuries of history. Walk the storied Royal Mile, through Grassmarket and past Greyfriars Bobby. The afternoon is yours to explore as you wander shops, visit a museum and take in the city’s enduring charm. This evening, enjoy a lively Scottish farewell dinner with live entertainment. (B/D)
