A Goldfield Ghost Town Tour & Saloon BBQ
Step into the Wild West and live out your pioneering dreams as you explore the beautifully preserved Goldfield Ghost Town. You’ll be transported as you wander Goldfield’s historic Main Street, lined with curious shops and historic buildings. Tour the fascinating Mammoth Gold Mine, experience the quirky, gravity-defying Mystery Shack, and hop aboard Arizona’s only narrow-gauge train for a ride. Round out your adventure with a hearty barbeque at the Mammoth Saloon, where the vintage Old West décor helps set the scene for a truly authentic trip back in time.

Scottsdale Extended Stay
Activity Level: Moderate. Discover Scottsdale’s soul on this 22-day extended journey that includes visits to ancient cliffside dwellings, ghost towns and desert trails.
Day 1
Scottsdale – Depart for Phoenix, Arizona. Upon arrival, meet your guide and transfer to the Hyatt House Scottsdale, your comfortable home base for the next three weeks.
Day 2
Scottsdale – After breakfast, set out on a guided four-hour tour of Phoenix, exploring the city’s iconic landmarks and local gems. Return to your hotel and enjoy a leisurely afternoon relaxing or exploring Scottsdale at your own pace. (B)
Day 3
Scottsdale – This morning, you’ll visit the awe-inspiring Montezuma Castle National Monument, a centuries-old 20-room high-rise dwelling nestled into a towering limestone cliff. This striking structure tells a story of the Sinagua people’s ingenuity, survival and prosperity in an unforgiving desert landscape. Return to Scottsdale for the afternoon, where you can savour lunch and dinner at your leisure. (B)
Day 4
Scottsdale – Enjoy the morning at leisure before heading out to experience the Goldfield Ghost Town. Stroll down Main Street, browse charming shops, tour the historic Mammoth Gold Mine and discover stories of the Wild West at the Goldfield Museum. End the day with a BBQ dinner at its classic saloon. Day 5
Scottsdale – Spend the day as you please, perhaps enjoying the hotel pool, wandering local boutiques or taking in Scottsdale’s art galleries. In the evening, join fellow travellers for a relaxed group reception with appetizers and a drink. (B/S)
Day 6 - 21
Scottsdale – Settle into the rhythm of desert living as you enjoy all the amenities of Hyatt House Scottsdale. Begin each day with an American breakfast buffet, then explore the area’s breathtaking natural wonders and vibrant arts and dining scenes. (B)
Day 22
Say goodbye to new friends as you meet in the hotel lobby for a transfer to the airport and your return flight to Toronto or Winnipeg. (B)

Extraordinary Explorations vacations are organized and booked by CAA Travel (South Central Ontario) Inc. and CAA Manitoba (“CAA Travel”) on behalf of CAA Club Group (o/a CAA South Central Ontario and CAA Manitoba). In the event of an increase in any of the cost factors, CAA Travel reserves the right to increase the price whereby the provisions of the Travel Industry Act shall prevail. CAA Extraordinary Explorations packages are 100% non-refundable at final payment. CAA Travel service fee for cancellation prior to final payment varies by program. CAA Travel reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements (minimum number of participants) or circumstances beyond its control. Additional fees for checked luggage or other incidentals may be incurred and vary according to itinerary and airline. Air schedules with some tours are not available at press time and may include several connections or forced overnight at passenger’s expense. CAA Travel strongly recommends the purchase of trip cancellation and emergency travel and emergency medical insurance at the time of booking.
Please note: Participants must be able to embark and disembark cruise ships and coaches without assistance as well as have a good level of mobility for walking tours in destinations where stairs and traditional cobblestone streets can be challenging. International transportation vehicles and facilities may not meet accessibility standards.
