Grapes & Gastronomy in Casablanca Valley
Explore the Casablanca Valley and discover why this ocean-cooled climate is famous for producing exceptional Chilean wine. Your Extraordinary Experience will begin with a visit to a local vineyard to learn about the winemaking process from an expert. South American Passage: Cruising Around Cape Horn
Activity Level: Moderate. Embark on a 20-day tour that blends cultural richness and breathtaking wilderness as you cruise from Chile to Argentina.
Day 1
Depart from Toronto or Winnipeg on your overnight flight to Santiago.
Day 2
Santiago – Upon arrival, meet your local guide and transfer to your hotel for breakfast before you check in. Explore Santiago on your own before your welcome dinner this evening. (B/D)
Day 3
Santiago – Today is a full-day tour of Cajón del Maipo, a canyon filled with active volcanoes, glaciers and rivers just 60 km from the capital of Santiago. Visit the village of San José de Maipo, then continue into the majestic Andes Mountain range to see the spectacular El Yeso reservoir. Take in the awe-inspiring beauty of the crystal-clear water surrounded by snow-capped hills. (B/L)
Day 4
Santiago – Enjoy another full-day excursion to explore the cultural side of Chile, starting in vibrant Valparaíso. See historic Plaza Sotomayor, then ride one of the famous inclined elevators to take in the impressive hilltop harbour views. Explore Viña del Mar, a popular seaside resort. Enjoy your Extraordinary Experience of a Casablanca Valley vineyard tour plus a four-course lunch with wine pairings. Return to Santiago for the evening at leisure. (B/T/L)

Please note: Participants must be able to embark and disembark cruise ships and coaches without assistance as well as have a good level of mobility for walking tours in destinations where stairs and traditional cobblestone streets can be challenging. International transportation vehicles and facilities may not meet accessibility standards.

Upon arrival, meet your local guide and transfer to your hotel where you’ll enjoy breakfast before you check into your room. Enjoy some free time to explore Santiago before meeting with your fellow travellers for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. (B/D)

Meet your guide for a full-day tour of Cajón del Maipo. Nestled between the Andes Mountains and alongside the roaring Maipo River, this canyon is only 60 km from the cosmopolitan capital of Santiago yet is filled with active volcanoes, glaciers and rivers. The trip begins with a visit to the village of San José de Maipo, listed as a national heritage site due to its colonial style architecture. The tour continues into the majestic Andes Mountain range, with its impressively rugged landscapes including the spectacular El Yeso reservoir with its crystal-clear water surrounded by snow-capped hills. Enjoy the silence as you take in the awe-inspiring beauty and fill your lungs with exquisite mountain air. (B/L)

Santiago
Enjoy another full-day excursion to explore the cultural side of Chile. You’ll begin in the vibrant, charming city of Valparaíso, uniquely nestled among 42 hills and teeming with history. Stop by the Plaza Sotomayor to see its monument honouring the 1879 Naval Battle of Iquique. Continue to the southern part of the city to ride one of the famous inclined elevators and take in the impressive views of the harbour and bay from the hilltop. Next, visit neighbouring Viña del Mar, a popular seaside resort known as "Garden City" thanks to its many well-kept parks and private gardens. Shop the local markets then continue to the Casablanca Valley, one of the country’s premier areas for cultivating grapes. Here your Extraordinary Experience will immerse you in the wine production process with a complete tour of the vineyard facilities followed by a four-course lunch including wine and fruit liqueur pairings. Return to Santiago for the evening at leisure. (B/T/L)
